Wafusuma Week : Sunday 🃏

This is it, the final day of Wafusuma Week ! I hope the puzzles were entertaining and shed light on new logic related to this genre. Since the ruleset is clearly derived from Fillomino, I decided to create some small variant puzzles based on Fillomino variants, plus one new using the special clue type. Here are the added/modified rules for each puzzle :

Non-Consecutive : Adjacent areas may not have a size difference of 1.

No Repeat : No 2 areas of the same size may share a row or column.

Joker : A clue may denote the sum of the two areas, or the size of one of the two areas touching itself.

Wafusuma Week : Saturday 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

We're entering the endgame of Wafusuma Week, but I didn't have the time to cook a proper hardcore, supersized monster. But I came across a puzzle in the database (you'll know which one when looking at today's puzzle) which had a neat idea for this type of clue. So I guess it's another silly puzzle, this time with more regular Wafusuma logic and an idea you will come across in another puzzle genre, I will leave that for you to find...

Wafusuma week : Friday 6️⃣

Here is the silly puzzle from Wafusuma week. I'll have to say the choice of a clue is quite restrained, as 3 and 4 are too limited to make interesting logic and numbers from 7 and higher will have too many possibilities. So 6 it is (and because I'm fascinated by Satan, for some reason.) It's not expected to be too hard, but will have some interesting parity logic. The puzzle is a little ugly and I would've liked to have thinner circles or even just put borders instead of blank ones. I'll find the courage to make it to the end of the week this time :)

Wafusuma week : Thursday

Following the Wafusuma series, this is a beautiful symetrical puzzle I'm proud to have made. You should be familiar with the small clues by now, but also the "minmax" technique as I call it, where chained clues can be forced by looking at the maximum value for big clues, and banned digits from even clues. Hope you'll find this one enjoyable.

Wafusuma week : Wednesday

And another Wafusuma. Hopefully the first 2 grids were not too difficult, as the clues were packed together to make more interactions. Here is a puzzle with more space, which will rely on properties of each clue. You may have already noticed what happens when a clue is even, and that becomes very useful for these puzzles.

Wafusuma week : Tuesday

Another Wafusuma. I like the idea of boarding areas of the grid with circles, to sow counting arguments in the mix. This time, you won't get away with easy chains of clues... This one is the second iteration of the idea, as the first one was broken. I must thank the WSPC France discord to point out the error in the previous version.

This week : Wafusuma ! 4️⃣ ⑥ 2️⃣

This week, we're tackling Wafusuma ! It's essentially Fillomino but clues are not given numbers, but sums of cells. Here are the rules :

Divide the grid into regions.

- A circle must divide two different regions.

- A number on a circle indicates the sum of the sizes of the two adjacent regions.

- Two regions of the same size cannot be orthogonally adjacent.

Rules taken from puzz.link -> https://puzz.link/rules.html?wafusuma for a solved example.

This time, i'll scale up the grid each day from 7x7 (today) to 11x11 for Friday, the weekend puzzles being a bit different.

Personally, i'm a big fan of Fillomino, and will probably feature all the puzzles i've made so far (which would be a bit over 50 puzzles iirc) in one big post. For now, do try to remember the last rule, as it helps a lot to eliminate possibilities for region placement.
